How to read this matrix
A bearish row means all four confirmed cells point downward. It describes an observed market condition, not a recommendation to sell.
Multi-timeframe analysis checks whether several views of the same price history agree. A one-hour rise can occur inside a weekly decline; a weekly rise can contain many short pullbacks. Reading only one interval hides that context. This matrix puts four intervals next to each other for the first 200 eligible liquid cryptocurrencies. It shows both directions on each page, while the page heading and ordering emphasize either bullish or bearish alignment. The measured universe and its coverage are displayed beside every market-wide count.
Each cell is calculated from one exchange spot series and only after its candle closes. The central reference is EMA50, an exponential average that responds more to recent closes than a simple average. EMA20 and EMA200 add a view of the shorter and longer structure. The 14-bar Average True Range measures typical movement, so distance from EMA50 can be compared across coins with very different prices. The EMA50 slope is measured against its value five closed bars earlier, again in ATR units.
A cell is Up when the closing price is at least 0.35 ATR above EMA50 and its slope is sufficiently positive. Strong Up adds a larger 0.75 ATR distance and the order EMA20 above EMA50 above EMA200. Down and Strong Down use mirrored thresholds. Conflicting evidence or a flat slope produces Neutral. A fresh state needs two consecutive closed candles to confirm. Exiting a direction near EMA50 has a narrower 0.15 ATR boundary, which reduces repeated changes when price hovers around the average.
The signed score weights 1H, 4H, 1D and 1W by 10, 20, 30 and 40. Each cell contributes from minus two to plus two before normalization to a scale from minus 100 to plus 100. Higher timeframes carry more weight because their trend usually changes more slowly. A score is a summary of agreement, not a probability of future returns. Full requires all four known cells pointing the same way, regardless of whether their score reaches an arbitrary threshold.
Near means exactly three of four timeframes point in one direction. The fourth cell is identified along with its distance from EMA50, so a reader can inspect what is actually missing. When the daily and weekly cells point upward while the hourly and four-hour cells point downward, the matrix calls it a pullback within an upward background. The reverse is a rebound within a downward background. Neither pattern has a guaranteed continuation or reversal.
A Just Aligned event records the confirmed candle close that completed all four cells. A Just Broke event identifies the first timeframe that ended a previously full alignment. The duration shown in a row begins at that confirmed close and ends at another confirmed change. Historical periods summarize their length and the observed price move. Seven-day outcomes after a break are only added when a later closed daily candle is available; incomplete observations are left blank.
Coverage matters especially for young assets. EMA200 on the weekly interval needs years of complete daily history, and the matrix requires at least 300 consecutive closed bars on every timeframe before it claims a cell. A missing spot series, a gap, a changed exchange or stale collection appears as insufficient data. These cells do not count as Neutral and cannot make a Full or Near row. The market temperature divides by covered assets, not by all coins in the catalog.
Moving averages lag, and a sideways market can repeatedly approach their boundaries even with confirmation. Exchange differences, volume changes and missing histories can alter the reading. Compare the four cells, inspect the last confirmed time, and use the asset page for broader context. The matrix is a factual screening and research tool. It does not identify an entry price, predict performance or provide a buy or sell recommendation.
